6 things every woman should know about cortisol and balance
Summary: Cortisol has become the word every wellness brand reaches for and almost none of them define. I went and read properly, and most of what I'd absorbed from social media was either wrong or a half-truth wearing a lab coat.

Here's all 6 👇

1. Cortisol isn't the villain — the pattern is
You need it. It's what gets you out of bed and through a deadline. The useful question was never how do I lower cortisol, it's whether the rhythm still rises and falls the way it should across a day.

2. Adrenal fatigue is not a diagnosis
It's a phrase from the supplement aisle, not from medicine. Brands that lead with it are telling you something about their standards. That doesn't mean the tiredness isn't real — it means the label being sold to you isn't the explanation.

3. Stress and your cycle run on the same circuit
They aren't separate systems having a coincidence. That's why a hard month at work can show up somewhere you weren't expecting, and why treating only one of the two tends to disappoint.

4. Adaptogens work on the response, not the stressor
Rhodiola rosea doesn't remove anything from your week. It's studied for how the body responds to stress. On the weeks where everything landed at once, the difference was that I stayed a person — same amount of stress, less of it landing on me.

5. Magnesium is where most formulas cut the corner
Oxide is cheap and poorly absorbed; glycinate absorbs and is the form associated with winding down. The form matters more than the number on the front of the tub, and it's one of the fastest ways to tell whether a formula was designed or assembled.

6. Consistency beats dose
The best formula you take twice a week loses to a decent one you take daily. That's the entire reason I moved to a drink. Ninety seconds while the kettle boils is a thing I actually do; a fourth bottle in the cupboard was not.
