5 signs your foundation isn't the problem
Summary: I changed foundation four times in a year. Matte, dewy, a serum one, an expensive one. It kept doing the same thing by lunchtime, which is when it finally occurred to me that the makeup was probably fine and the surface I was putting it on wasn't.

Here's all 5 👇

1. It separates by noon, in every brand
Four different formulas doing the identical thing at the identical hour is not a formula problem. That is the skin underneath moving — losing water through the day and taking the makeup with it.

2. Coverage can't fix texture
Foundation is designed to even out colour. It has no way to change how light hits a surface that is dehydrated, and adding more of it makes texture more obvious rather than less. I had been solving the wrong variable with more product.

3. I stopped adding and started subtracting
The primer, the setting spray, the hydrating mist I kept in my bag — all of them were compensating for the same thing. When the underlying hydration changed I dropped two of the three, which was not the outcome I expected.

4. Hyaluronic acid, but from the inside
The serum version pulls in whatever moisture is nearby and sits on the surface. Drinking it supports hydration at the level where your skin makes it. That is the difference I could feel by about week three and see in how makeup sat by week six.

5. What's actually in a packet
One packet, 6.22 grams: 30 mg Ceramosides, 2,500 mg bovine collagen peptides, 120 mg hyaluronic acid, 100 mg vitamin C, 500 mg coconut water powder and 45 mcg biotin. Worth knowing before you buy — it contains wheat and it is not vegan.
👉 give it three weeks
